As principal of St. Michael School, it is my pleasure to welcome you on behalf of our pastor, Msgr. Ciaramitaro, our Associate Pastors, Fr. Cortese and Fr.Gonzalez, the St. Michael School Advisory Board members, and the faculty and staff of St. Michael School as we begin the 2015/2016 academic year.Educating children since 1951, St. Michael is rich in tradition and committed to sharing the faith taught by the Catholic Church. Our small, nurturing environment thrives from the contributions of all of its members. With the help of faculty, staff, parents, and parishioners, St. Michael School is a place where children grow in God’s love.
This year our Montessori program expands by increasing enrollment of three and four year olds. St. Michael’s Montessori program for children from three and four years of age is the only one of its kind offered by a Catholic school in Memphis. Montessori offers our youngest students the opportunity to explore their world through handson experiences. The Athletics program at St. Michael School will expand to include all children in the parish, under the leadership of Romeo Lucchesi, our new Athletic Director.
As always, the faculty and staff at St. Michael are committed to providing the highest quality Catholic education for each student this year. Through our Catholic traditions our students learn to cherish the Mass and the sacraments and are encouraged to develop a strong personal prayer life.
St. Michael Parish School maintains high academic expectations. Many of our students receive scholarships to attend Catholic high schools in the area and have gone on to graduate as valedictorian or salutatorian of their high school class. Our faculty works diligently to create meaningful, learning experiences within a studentcentered environment, remembering that each child is unique and brings special talents and interests to our community.
Thank you for choosing St. Michael Parish School for your family. Together we will make the 2015/2016 school year a productive and memorable one for our children.
Mrs. Mary Anne Chiozza
